This study attempts to demonstrate the connection between vocabulary knowledge and English listening skills in order to comprehend the relationship between the two on a basic level. This study used a correlational research methodology. This research technique looked at the relationship between vocabulary mastery and students' basic listening skills in English. The summary of the research findings above makes it evident that there is a weak but favourable correlation between basic vocabulary mastery and basic level listening skills. 0.0339 is the correlation coefficient. This suggests that other factors have a greater impact than basic vocabulary proficiency, which only has a 3.39% effect on the worth of basic listening

This study explored the dynamics of the role of religious leaders in the development of community forests. Through a qualitative research design with a phenomenological approach and a Naturalistic paradigm, it was found that religious leaders carried out dynamic roles from the pioneering period to the period of obtaining international ecolabel certificates. From this discovery, three propositions were drawn to which after inter-relation between the concepts, two substantive theories were drawn, namely (1) Followers’ Need-Based Visionary Leader Theory, dan (2) Theory of Change-and-Innovation Enabling Leader Quality (Attributes of Change-and-innovation Enabling Leader).

Oleh karenanya, siswa diharapkan memahami teks dan menangkap pesan moral kehidupan yang terkandung di dalamnya. Membaca teks narrative membutuhkan strategi khusus untuk menentukan pesan moral di balik teks. Salah satu strateginya adalah Semantic Mapping. Strategi ini membantu guru mengarahkan siswa tidak hanya fokus pada setiap kata kunci yang ada tetapi juga pada struktur teks yang menunjukkan hubungan antara ide dan komponen cerita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas penggunaan strategi Semantic Mapping untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca siswa pada teks narrative. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuasi-eksperimental. Populasi penelitian ini adalah 51 siswa SMP Nurul Jadid Paiton Probolinggo yang terdiri dari 25 siswa dari kelas VIII-H sebagai kelas eksperimen dan 26 siswa dari kelas VIII-I sebagai kelas kontrol. Dalam penelitian ini, pre-test, perlakuan, dan post-test diberikan untuk kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan T-test for using SPSS 16.00 Windows untuk mengetahui perbedaan signifikansinifikan dari pemahaman membaca siswa antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa strategi semantic mapping adalah cara yang efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa pada membaca teks narrative.

The research employed a collaborative classroom action research design in which the researcher and the collaborative teacher worked together in preparing a suitable procedure of Reciprocal Teaching Method, designing the lesson plan, determining of the criteria of success, implementing the action, observing, and doing reflections. The subjects of this research were 40 students of Grade XI BHS 2 at MA. Nurul Jadid Problolinggo in the academic year 2019/2020. The data of this research were obtained through (1) observation sheet, to obtain information about teacher’s and the students’ activities and performance during the implementation of Reciprocal Teaching Method, (2) quiz, to identify whether the students had made progress in reading comprehension, and (3) questionnaire, to get information from the students whether the strategy applied could motivate the students to actively involve during the teaching and learning process. The result of the research showed that the Reciprocal Teaching Method in the teaching-learning of reading comprehension was effective in improving the students’ reading comprehension. The improvement was indicated by the increase of the students’ average score throughout the cycle of action that was 72.63 in the preliminary study; 79.88 in the test of Cycle 1. Besides, students were motivated and active in the class using the method in terms of learning to work together and to help each other in a group with different competence, which was showed by the result of their works

The urgent discussion in English is how to make good and correct sentences, according to the rules of English. The learning is in the discussion of tenses, tenses are the rules for writing sentences from the subject verb (verb) object or information that is in accordance with the conditions of the time that occurs (present, past or future). The learning will be designed not to be boring, with the media to be used based on websites and androids, to make it more interactive and fun learning English. This paper proposed the using of Quizlet as a digital media in introducing Informatics terms to Informatics students of Nurul Jadid University Paiton Probolinggo. The learning activity is designed using the available menus in Quizlet application such flash cards, learn, speller, and test. By this method, the learning process is interesting because the learners are easy to learn the material and know the spelling error that generally occurs in studying foreign language. This study used correlation research. The number of populations was 315. The researcher chose 113 Senior High EFL students at MA Nurul Jadid. Questionnaire and reading comprehension test were used to collect data. The researcher used two questionnaires to measure reading strategies used by the students and students’ learning styles. SPSS V. 20 was used to analyze questionnaires’ data. Descriptive statistics was applied to calculate the mean and standard deviation of 40 individual reading strategies. The results were: metacognitive and cognitive strategies were used in high and medium level when students did the tests. Metacognitive strategy significantly correlated with reading achievement where correlation coefficient is greater than critical value of correlation coefficient while cognitive strategy does not relate mutually to reading achievements. Then, reading strategies significantly affected students’ reading achievement.

The aim of this study was to boost students’ reading comprehension. There were 40 students participated. The criteria of succes were 1) the score of average class was ≥70 and more than 50% students get score ≥70, the researcher used test to know this result. And 2) Students enjoyed the teaching and learning process. It was found 3 students were qualified as poor, 17 students were fair, 9 students were good, 9 students were very good and 1 student was excellent. The average score was 75.85. The students felt comfortable in the teaching and learning process.

This research method is a research and development (R&D) taken from the Alessi and Trollip model which consists of three stages, namely: (1) planning, (2) design, and (3) development. The effectiveness of the product was analyzed using the N-gain formula (normalized learning outcomes). The results of the study are as follows. The reason students score poorly on English subjects is due to several aspects that students must understand: pronunciation, grammatical structure, vocabulary, and intonation. Community Language Learning (CLL) shows how effective and efficient English language must be taught. Thus, this study was reported qualitatively to observe how Community Language Learning (CLL) was able to improve students' speaking skills in remedial learning Materials for eighth grade students at SMP Nurul Jadid with a total of 26 students. Observation sheets and score assessment sheets are made to collect data in considering the names of students who have low grade criteria. Fluency, pronunciation, expression, vocabulary, and content are used as instruments to analyze their performance. The method of this research approach is Classroom Action Research which reveals that students feel comfortable to join the learning experience, and its effect on their competence in speaking skills with an increasing amount during going through stage 2 cycles; post-test 1 and post-test 2. Community Language Learning (CLL) is considered an effective and efficient method because it contributes to the prominent effects of speaking skills.

Given the many behaviors that indicate the lack of environmental awareness shown by society today. This research uses a qualitative approach with case study. The results showed; the efforts of Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid Paiton Probolinggo in realizing caring and cultured environmental students based on independence, namely; development of environment-based curriculum, foster theological awareness about the importance of caring for the environment, development of participatory-based environmental activities.

Moreover, the discussion of an issue about the use of authentic listening material is just fierce in listening as it is in reading(Harmer, 2001). However, the teacher should have to look for the simplest method of teaching listening to overcome its difficulties; to teach it effectively; and to achieve the goals of teaching listening successfully, such as teaching students to acquire vocabularies, grammatical understanding, and good pronunciation. The Purposes of the study are to overcome the difficulties in teaching listening; to improve teacher’s creativity in teaching listening; and to provide the teacher with some alternative methods of teaching listening. Based on the study it can be concluded that, first, the effective listening will produce successful listening. Second, the reason of using listening in the classroom is to let the students to hear different varieties and accent of English instead of the voices of their teacher which may be full of idiosyncrasies. Third, the listening materials are geared with the students’ needs, levels, and interests. Fourth, there six principles for listening; Encourage students to listen as often and as much as possible, help students prepare to listen, once may not be enough, encourage students to respond to the content of a listening, not just to the language, different listening stages demand different listening tasks, and good teachers exploit listening texts to the full

This paper aims to describe, analyze, and interpret the dictions used by religious leaders in the program. Through a qualitative research designed in phenomenological approach, especially at naturalistic paradigm, the research found that instead of using that of semantically classified as environmental and social terms, the religous leaders preferred using that of economical terms, namely financial benefits of planting trees for the local farmers. A proposition filed from this research is: communication of innovation in the field of extention forestry program will be accepted widely and quickly by villagers when the dictions used are words that emphasize on financial benefits which might be obtained from the program.
